The Language of Wonder

Good Monday morning family! How was your weekend?

Hopefully you were able to take the time to do what makes you feel like yourself, grounded and connected.

This morning, I went to meet my mom for breakfast, and after spending some time at my altar in prayer...it has been one of those mornings that feels like magic, like everything is connected.

As I sat in prayer, thanking God for blessings and growth, my prayer music changed to a song called "Hari Om" by Janet Stone. (One of my favorite versions of this chant!) And it was no coincidence that as I was thanking God, a song comes on that means the end of all suffering. Then, when I opened my eyes, I noticed that the only beam of light coming into my prayer space was illuminating the heart crystal that rests against Jesus' picture.

A little while later, when I arrived at breakfast with my mom, I parked, looked up and noticed this tree directly in front of me (picture below). The trunk had naturally formed a perfect heart. It wasn’t carved by human hands. It had simply grown that way over time, quietly and beautifully.

As I drove away, I couldn’t help but smile.

Were these moments messages from God? Meaningful coincidences? Or simply beautiful reminders hidden in an ordinary morning?

The truth is, we may never know...

But perhaps the greater gift isn’t always having the answer.

Perhaps it’s simply in being the kind of person who notices.

Ive always said, I'm the kind of person who notices a lot...and I feel everything big, not small.

Somewhere along the way, many of us stopped paying attention.

We rush from one appointment to the next, one notification to another, believing life is found in the extraordinary while quietly overlooking the tiny miracles tucked into the ordinary.

A sunrise.

The wind through the trees.

The laughter of a child.

A bible verse that speaks at exactly the right moment.

Two dragonflies crossing your path.

A heart that has been patiently growing inside an old tree for decades.

Sometimes the most meaningful things in life don't come with fanfare, but simply and quietly ask to be noticed.

Whether you see these moments as divine fingerprints, gentle reminders, or simply invitations to pause, they all ask the same thing of us:

Slow down. Look closer. Not everything precious begins as something impressive.

Wonder has a way of changing us.

Not because it answers our questions, but because it softens our hearts enough to remember that life is far more beautiful than our hurried minds often allow us to see.

And when we practice slow living, we build presence, expand our awareness and develop a connection much deeper than the ordinary.

I’ve come to believe that living a spirited life isn’t about chasing extraordinary experiences.

It’s about becoming fully awake to the extraordinary beauty already surrounding us.

Today, I hope you notice something you might have otherwise walked past.

A flower pushing through a crack in the sidewalk.

A stranger’s unexpected kindness.

The warmth of your favorite soup.

A quiet answer to a prayer you’ve almost forgotten you prayed.

Life is constantly whispering to those who are willing to listen.

If this reflection resonated with you, I’d love to invite you to continue the journey. Explore more essays, resources, and practices for living with greater awareness, or join my private mentorship if you’re ready for deeper, ongoing guidance. Either way, I’m grateful you’re here!

Then underneath, include just one or two links, not a whole list:

May we never become so busy building a life that we forget to notice the wonder of living it.

With love,

Kimberly XOXO
